Before you begin
We are so excited to serve the Lord with you this summer! We look forward to seeing you at our in person training sessions this spring. However, as a returning student we want to give you some ways you can help us make training great!
Preparation Steps
- Brush Up on Your Introduction Skills
We love how close our CYIA missionaries become serving the Lord together but please remember that the start of a new ministry year means that we may have brand new students attending training. Please make sure to introduce yourself and help make them feel welcome!
- Be Ready to Help
During training sessions, keep an eye open for ways you can help and encourage the people around you. This can be done through prayer, being a ready volunteer, and assisting your instructors by being enthusiastic about activities.
- Dust Off Your CMI Account
Log into your CMI account and put it to some good use. Check out one of their free seminars that interest you. Some good options are “Romans Road for Children”, “Counseling a Child: The Art of Asking Questions”, or “From Scripture Smart to Heart.” Although we will cover the wordless book in our in person training, you are also welcome to take the wordless book seminar again as well. During training, be ready to share anything that you found helpful.
- Attend Your First Local Training Session of The Year
See the “upcoming tab” for our current local training dates. Unless you are unable to come to the Wordless Book training, do not move on to phase 3 until we have had the opportunity to give you some directions in person. Be sure to bring any signed application forms with you to your first in person training session along with a notebook, Bible, and pen or pencil.
